Last week I had the distinct honour of performing the national anthems of Australia and New Zealand at the local RSA dawn service. Being asked to perform to ones best at 6.00am is a challenge but one that I relished from the moment I was asked.
What made this event even more poignant this year is the fact that it is a 100 year commemoration of our troops landing at Gallipoli and joining forces with our Australian counterparts to form what became to be known as the ANZACS.
I was honoured and humbled to be part of our national day of remembrance and do my part to help my community to remember and pay respect to those men and women that gave their lives for their country so long ago.
In other news, I recently took a young student of mine to Hutt City radio for my monthly spot on Wednesday afternoon. This young man has so much talent and it was awesome to hear him perform his original songs live on the radio and to hear the plaudits from seasoned radio jock Mike Dee. Taurean Mill has a big future in the music industry as a singer/songwriter.
There are so many great things coming up in the next couple of months but the one thing that is really standing out is a charity concert I have been asked to perform at. This is a concert to raise funds for a special little girl. Mila Gardner is a gorgeous wee girl that has cerebral palsy and a bunch of local artists are getting together to help raise money for her so she can have surgery that will help to improve her life. Check out the info on my face book page https://www.facebook.com/anitaprimemusic . This is a cause that has touched my heart as I sure it will to all my followers. I am so happy to be able to do something to help this little girl.
Hope to see you guys there!
Lots of love to you, your families and friends. Stay safe x
