Groovin’ at Maori Motown

What do you get when you load a traveling van with a bunch of rowdy Samoans, Maori and Pakehas ?…Continuous laughing and craziness oh yeah!!  You guessed it, tripping in a van to Hawkes Bay…5 hours from Welly…but I’m telling you the time just flew with all the singing and joking! I made my way with Richard Te Tau’s Tautoko to perform at “Maori Motown”, a wonderfully staged and attended festival in Napier, on the east coast of New Zealand… Wow what a great night!!  I think the main thing that stood out to me were all the kids who were there, yelling and cheering and running after autographs and CD signings… energetic little tykes! lol…they were great!  Frankie Stevens, a New Zealand music icon from the 70’s and NZ Idol judge, was another highlight… We performed a song together at the closing of the night which rocked! .. a lot of fun and a fantastic honor!… I have to say a huge thank you to Richard, and to Dennis the Festival organizer, you guys are totally awesome!….Also a big shout out to one of my beautiful fans… Aaliyah…you rock gurl!!! So now … on to Canada and then New York City for some shows … love me them frequent flyer miles ! Anita xx
