These last couple of months, wow, what a whirlwind of activity! We finished recording “Destiny”, my first release, in February…Ron (my producer Ron Thaler) and I spent two weeks in New York recording all the musicians, and then two and a half months solid tracking vocals in New Zealand…10 hour days until it was finished. How many burgers is that ??? hahaha … My poor microphone !!… A lot of fun and a lot of craziness, totally exhausting! The album, I am so proud of all the work we did, the hours, the energy, it’s awesome !

So now, the next part of the journey begins…the launch of the album, and some live shows getting underway in August and September this year…beginning with New Zealand!! Yeeeyyaaahhh !! … my ‘homeland !!’

Ron returned to NZ in late March, and for the last three weeks has been working out the logistics of the tour and the album launch. Auditioning musicians, singers, talking to choreographers and collecting dancers, working out staging, venues, production companies, radio and promotions, you name it. It was great for me to see how all these things are put in place, I haven’t seen it this up-close before… We went backstage at the ‘Simple Minds’ concert in the beautiful Civic Centre in Auckland which was a treat, Ron wanted me to really get a feel for the lights and intensity, the staging was fantastic ! I’m so excited, the journey is really amazing ! …and so thankful to work with the people that are around me. You guys are da bomb !

Next up : the shooting of the music video for the album’s first single ‘La La La’… going to be jumping on that in the next month or so, and you’ll see it on the airwaves with the release of “Destiny”, which is planned for late June/July. It’s gonna be phat 🙂
